A top-up is the fastest gift you can give someone in Cuba: within minutes they have credit to call, data for WhatsApp and, if it lines up with a promotion, much more than you paid for. Here's what you need to know.
How Cuba top-ups work today
Since 2025 Cubacel top-ups are sold by amount in Cuban pesos (CUP): you choose how many CUP should arrive (for example 500, 750 or 1,000) and see the price in US dollars. The phone receives main balance your family can use for calls, texts or to buy data plans.
Cubacel promotions
Several times a month ETECSA runs promotions for top-ups coming from abroad. The most common are:
- Multiplied credit: the credit you send arrives doubled, tripled or more.
- Bonus gigabytes: extra data for browsing and WhatsApp.
- Unlimited data at night or for a few days.
On our top-ups page you see the active promotion and what your family gets with each amount, and we let you know about the next one if it's about to start. If there's no rush, it's worth waiting for a promo: the same money goes much further.
How to top up step by step
- Go to Top-ups and choose Cuba.
- Enter the mobile number: 8 digits starting with 5 (without +53).
- Pick the amount and check what arrives with the promotion.
- Pay by card. The credit arrives within minutes.
Top-ups to other countries
Besides Cuba, you can top up phones in more than 20 countries, such as Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Spain or the United States. It works the same way: choose the country, enter the number and pay.
